We always like to hear feedback from our customers and it’s expecially pleasing to know that our vehicles are helping to keep businesses in action. Gary Haro from Eden Springs has given us this insight into how Sixt are helping them to keep the national well watered…

When you’re in the business of delivering water to the whole of the UK, you need to be able to rely on your vehicles. Eden Springs, the UK’s leading water cooler supplier, have an extensive network of water delivery trucks and vans delivering water to office and homes, however if anything goes wrong with their vehicles Eden rely on Sixt to pick up the slack.

“We use Sixt for managing our vehicle needs as and when required” explains Gary Haro, Point-of-Use Manager for Eden Springs UK. “If we have a van off the road due to a breakdown then we use Sixt for a quick, short-term vehicle hire. We also use Sixt for long-term van hire during certain projects.”

Eden have around 140 water delivery trucks on the road, with over 1 million bottles in circulation at any time – bottles that are used an average of 50 times before they’re recycled. It may sound like a lot but everything is optimised to reduce emissions, including routes planned using high-tech planning technology to achieve maximum efficiency.

Green and sustainbility issues are incredibly important within the commercial vehicle sector, and Eden are showing their commitment by becoming the first water cooler company in the UK to become certified carbon neutral and a low-carbon company.

The “Leasing in Russia and CIS 2010″ conference took place on September 23-24 this year. The conference was organized by the “IC-Energy” company. The main themes of the conference were interactions between the state and business, changes in the market structure and many others. Delegates from Russia and CIS countries, as well as Sixt representatives visited the conference in the Ranaissance hotel which is located in the centrer of Moscow. Sixt in Russia was the official transport partner of the conference and provided its high quality vehicles and services. Visitors of the conference were therefore also able to receive more information about the service Sixt provides worldwide.

From June 3rd to June 6th, one of the biggest tournaments, the «Golf Mayor Cup 2010», took place in the Moscow City Golf Club. Sixt rent a car has again been the transport partner of this event. During several years, Sixt Russia has given transport support to the Moscow City Golf Club and the Moscow Golf Development Federation. Sixt Russia is glad to support the development of this noble kind of sport. Sixt Costa Rica sponsors local Oktoberfest

Sixt in Costa Rica was the proud sponsor for this years Oktoberfest in Costa Rica. A local school organizes the traditional bavarian event every year for the Germans living in Costa Rica. 2000 participants joined the event, playing the hammering gane and just having fun, sponsored by Sixt Costa Rica. Sixt even got the 1st place for the best bavarian outfit, thanks to te beautiful Sixt ladies wearing the typical orange-black Sixt “Dirndl”.

Sixt rent a car In New Partnership With Foreign Commonwealth Office

Car hire company Sixt rent a car have announced that they have become official partners to the Foreign Commonwealth Office “Know Before You Go” campaign which offers advice on keeping safe and healthy whilst travelling abroad.

This Government campaign works with over 350 partners in the travel industry to promote a number of key messages including:

Making sure that travellers have appropriate travel insurance and medical cover.
Understanding local laws and customs.
Having the correct travel documentation.
Planning ahead for emergencies.

These are just some of the topics covered by the campaign and, having such a large number of partners involved from so many areas of the travel industry, information is available on virtually every aspect of foreign travel.

Sixt plan to support Know Before You Go in a number of different ways from contributing advice on driving a car abroad to distributing literature on other topics such as health and local laws.

This content will be available both within many of our UK rental locations when collecting a car and also for download in digitial format from the Sixt blog.

Sixt Hilton Annual Golf Day

On Friday 19th June, Sixt rent a car UK teamed up with Heathrow Hilton to raise money for Hilton in the Community Foundation and Regine Sixt Children’s Aid through what has become an annual golf event held each year. Sixt Team Captains were Ian Lawrence and Mark Blakesley with colleague Stephen Marshall from Head office also taking part with Manufacturer and Customer Partners completing the make-up of both sides.

Bob Baillie, Raj Uddin, James Wilson and Marie Roberts were also on hand behind the scenes to market Sixt to all the companies taking part in what was a very enjoyable and successful day with hopefully £2000 being raised for our charity. Check out our photos from the event…
