Woman falls off cliff after surprise wedding proposal

An American man managed to sweep his wife to be off her feet after proposing to her during a hiking trip in Maryland. Moments after accepting his offer of marriage she fell 10ft down a rock face and had to be rescued by helicopter. Read the full story from The Baltimore Sun.

Giant Parrot Attacks Policeman

A giant pet parrot attacked a police officer near Dover this week after he pulled up the owner for driving with the bird on her shoulder. It transpired that the woman had already been disqualified from driving leaving the officer with the difficult task of having to drive the car to a local car pound with the angry bird still inside. Pigeons Still Faster than Broadband

Despite the latest developments in technology and ultra fast broadband, it seems that in South Africa it’s still quicker to use a racing pigeon to send data. A Durban IT firm set up an experiment, pitting an 11 month old pigeon carrying a 4gb memory stick against an ADSL internet connection from the countries leading ISP Telkom, to see which could get the data to the destination first.
