Midweek Madness: Weird and Wonderful News

We’ve come across some weird and wonderful stories recently so he’s a few that caught our eye…

Bog Snorkeling

On Monday over 150 competitors headed to the Welsh town of Llanwrtyd Wells to take part in the annual Bog Snorkeling Championships. Those competing took part in a number of different events including a 60 yard trench race!

Gravy Wrestling

Crowds gathered at a Lancashire Pub over the bank holiday weekend to watch a wrestling match with a twist. Twenty four contestants battled it out to be crowded the best gravy wrestler. The event was sponsored by Gravy producer Bisto who provided 2,000 litres of gravy.

Bear Found at Skate Park

Early morning skaters heading to a their local skate park in the Colorado town of Snowmass last Wednesday would have had a bit of a surprise. A bear had entered the concrete skate hole and was unable to get out, that was until staff from the park lowered a ladder into the hole which the bear then used to climb out of the hole before wandering off!

Couple hold Birthday Party for Fridge

A couple from Coventry invited friends and family around to their house during the August bank holiday to celebrate the 50th birthday of their fridge! Party goers enjoyed a buffet of cheese and wine which had, of course, been chilled in the fridge.

Dogs Head to the Shops

A Chinese man who suffered from a stroke has trained his two terrier dogs, Pong pong and Wow wow, to push a cart to the local grocery shop to collect his shopping. Sun Chien who built the cart himself, designed it with a special section for money and a shopping list ensuring he always get everything he needs.
