What a brilliant idea, I didn't know snow chains were available for anything other than vehicles. I struggled so much on Wednesday trying to make it up the very slippy road to work after giving up trying to make it in my car, these would have been ideal. Instead, I had to pull myself up using a fence only to realise that the fencing ran out and I had to make the last few meters on my own - which I didn't. I proceeded to slide sideways, in a Bridget Jones kind of fashion, back down to where I had come from until a very kind gentleman came and helped me. I was wearing boots, but in the icy conditions, these really weren't sufficient.
