Updates from the CES 2010
Every year the electronics industry gathers together to show off the latest in innovations at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This year, despite the current economic downturn, all of the major players in the industry have put forwards many innovative progressions to old technology whilst revealing hints of what the future is to bring.
At Sixt we appreciate advances in technology and have embraced the many ways in which it can save you time and make life that little bit easier and in some cases, better. So with that in mind we will be looking at some of the stand out products of CES 2010
Today we’ll look at Sony‘s new DSX-S100 in car-radio which offers an innovative solution to pairing up your PMP (Personal Music Player, or iPod/Mp3 device) to your stereo. The stand out feature of the radio is it’s “TuneTray”, which enables you to connect your PMP via USB (Universal Serial Bus) to your in car entertainment centre. Instead of leaving your iPod rattling around in one of the multitude of trays and cubby holes in your car the TuneTray simply moves behind the fascia and stays hidden away from view in secure surroudings.
Sony are promising almost complete compatibility for all PMP’s from iPhones to Zunes, but you will have to check to ensure that your Mp3 will work with the stereo. The unit will be available to purchase initially in the United States for $150 and will hopefully be rolled out worldwide at a later date.
There will be further updates about the CES over the next few days as we pick out some of the show’s more interesting and car-related innovations to show our readers.
