London ‘must learn from previous Olympics’
London has to learn from the Athens, Sydney and Beijing Olympics in order to make the 2012 Games “a very big ticket” and attract visitors, an expert has claimed.
London must learn from previous Olympics if the 2012 Games are to be a success and attract more people to the city.
That is the view of Tom Jenkins, executive director of the European Tour Operators Association, who said that there is “no ground for complacency”.
He commented: “In order for the Games to be successful in London, they really have to learn from what happened in Athens, what happened in Sydney and what happened in Beijing.”
Mr Jenkins explained that organisers must attract people to the capital with “something which is both spectacular and appeals to people independently of the Olympic Games”.
He added that this is a challenge as the UK has to make sure that the Olympics is seen as “a very big ticket”.
The Games, which are sure to result in high demand for London car hire, take place from July 27th 2012 and are followed by the Paralympic Games.
