Sports fans can see the polo in London

London will host a spectator-friendly polo event next month.
Horse and sports fans alike can head to London’s first Polo in the Park this summer as part of the World Polo Series.
Running from June 5th to 6th, the event will see horses and players battle it out at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, which is usually reserved for private members.
It is the first Polo in the Park has been held and Daniel Fox-Davies, chairman of the World Polo Association, said it will be “spectacular”.
The aim of the event is to shake off the sport’s elitist image and encourage people from all walks of life to learn about the game. It will also be the first polo tournament in 70 years to be televised.
Changes have been made to the game to make it more spectator friendly, with organisers stating the event is ideal for family, friends and business contacts.
Already confirmed to play in the tournament are teams from New York, Rome, Lagos, Moscow and, of course, London.
Those travelling to London later in June will also be able to catch some matches at the Toast Festival, which runs from the 26th to the 28th of the month.
