davidbeckham Beckham spotted texting while drivingUsers of car hire may want to show David Beckham the red card, after he was photographed texting while driving.

The star was spotted in his Cadillac Escalade using a mobile as he made his way back to his US home after training with his LA Galaxy teammates, reports the Daily Mail.

Beckham was photographed with one hand off the wheel as he used the device, which – just as it is here in the UK – is illegal in California.

The newspaper reports that this is not the first time the 34-year-old has set down a less than perfect example behind the wheel, having last year been fined for making an illegal manoeuvre while motoring in the US.

Users of London car hire may also want to avoid following the example set by child star Freddie Highmore, after it was revealed earlier this week that the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor shouted at a pedestrian during his driving test, Contactmusic.com reported.
