A new report has found the UK to have the sixth safest roads in the world, which could be good news for those using car hire in London services during a holiday to the capital.

The risk of suffering a road accident on British roads has fallen dramatically since the 1980s, a report reveals, which may interest car hire in London users.

Figures published by the Institution of Advanced Motorists (IAM) show that Britain is now the sixth safest country to drive anywhere in the world.

The IAM’s Motoring Facts report highlights the country’s denser road network and higher car population, those using car hire in London may be interested to discover.

Neil Greig, the organisation’s director of policy and research, states: “The challenge for the government is to provide a safe and modern road network and for motorists to take more responsibility for their safety.”

He suggests that it will become increasingly difficult for the casualty rates to be lowered further, as it will take a lot of effort to save additional lives.
