Sixt Launch App for Bada OS

Ever since the launch of the iSixt App on the iPhone last year, we have tried to provide our customers with as many ways to book a car using an application on as many platforms that we can. Our developers have been hard at work rolling out applications for both theAndroid and Blackberry platforms and we are pleased to announce that we now have a presence on Samsung’s Bada platform. Our Bada app is already receiving good reviews and is currently featuring as one of the best apps for the platform according to tech site T3, which you can read here.

Samsung bada is a platform developed for the latest range of Samsung smartphones released this year, starting with the Samsung Wave. The aim of the platform is to provide a “smartphone for everyone”, by being a cost effective OS that the phone manufacturer can use across its full range of future phones.

Sixt maintains a vision to improve the application for all smartphone platforms and are always striving to add new features to help our customers use our service wherever they may be.

Top Blackberry Apps to beat the Ash Cloud

Having recently posted an article about our favourite iPhone and Android apps, we realised that none of the staff here have any idea of what is going on in the world of Blackberry phones. This is simply because the people in our office don’t have one and didn’t think we should be trying to decide on our favourites without being able to try any of them.

Luckily we have managed to find a fantastic list produced by Jason Hesse, who writes for the Real Business website, that covers some of the most useful Blackberry apps for people currently stuck in other countries because of the Eyjafjallajökul volcanic eruption. Meet Sixt at the Mobile World Congress 2010

Check out the latest Sixt Mobile Apps at this weeks Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

You probably already know that Sixt is the forerunner in mobile technology within the car rental industry. To further develop this position, we will be participating in this years Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Together with BlackBerry we will introduce the Sixt App for Storm, Curve, Bold and Pearl. In the latest version 1.2.0 Sixt customers can enjoy a variety of new features including the ability to send reservation requests directly to the branch. The vicinity search has also been improved and can now function without a GPS net. The online check-in tool also allows users to select the exact model they rent prior to arriving at selected branches.

Also on show at the Mobile World Congress will be the latest version of the iPhone App “iSixt” which is already available from Apple’s Appstore. The App has been improved with a host of new and interesting features.

The Backend of the Android App has been extended and provides a faster more efficient booking service. Furthermore the mobile web page for customers that don’t use an iPhone, BlackBerry or Android has recently been revised offering a completely new booking engine.

The MWC 2010 stats today in Barcelona and runs through until the 18th of February. You will find us in hall 8 together with BlackBerry. Opening hours of the conference are Mon 15.02., 09:00 – 17:30, Tue 16.02., 09:00 – 18:30, Wed 17.02., 09:00 – 17:30 and Thu. 18.02., 09:00 – 16:00. Sixt AG, Germany’s largest car rental company and international provider of high-quality mobility solutions, is the first rental company to offer its customers mobile rental bookings through BlackBerry phones, including the models Curve, Bold, Pearl and Storm. The application is tailored to the smartphone’s capabilities, allowing users to reserve their car of choice quickly and simply from one of nearly 3,500 Sixt stations in more than 90 countries worldwide. As an introductory offer, customers using the innovative service will receive 10 percent off bookings in Germany and France up to the end of June. The new offer represents a systematic expansion of the mobile rental booking options already possible via conventional mobile phones and the iPhone.

Customers using a BlackBerry can simply download the Sixt application for free at our Mobile Reservations page, or visit our blackberry to gain direct access to the downloads. After completing the download, users have numerous innovative services available at their fingertips. Customers can reserve their desired car via BlackBerry, and receive confirmation via text message or PDS. The “MySixt” page shows an overview of current reservations as well as the option to cancel or change bookings. Additionally, customers can login with their Sixt customer cards, giving them access to their individual rates. Likewise, business customers can also access their business rates.

The Sixt BlackBerry application is specifically designed and optimised for quick transfer rates, ensuring a smooth and effortless rental process. Customers can connect the Sixt application with BlackBerry features – for example saving rental station addresses and pick-up/drop-off times in their smartphones. In addition, the BlackBerry’s GPS capabilities allow the application to locate the nearest Sixt stations. The Sixt application is also available for download at www.sixt.com . Business customers can also receive a customised version on request.
