Wissen Castle

Weeze is a small town on the north-west border of Germany located within the Düsseldorf region. Lying between Goch to the north and Kevelaer to the south the town which incorporates the village of Wemb has a population of 10,500.

Weeze is rich in history and steeped in tradition offering visitors an unspoilt view of rural Germany. Positioned on the River Niers the area has an abundance of old castles and farmhouses which make a walk through the countryside all the more interesting. The region really is a walkers paradise with over 210 kilometers bridle, cycling and rambling routes.

One of the towns most famous historic attractions is Wissen Castle which dates back to the 14th century, today the structure is a non-Gothic design which has been extensively modernised during the 20th century by the Loe family.
