berlin popular for holidays Berlin very popular for holidaymakersBrits looking into booking breaks in Berlin may want to do so sooner rather than later, as a travel expert has claimed that the city is becoming increasingly popular.

Berlin is proving to be a popular destination for holidaymakers in the current financial climate.

That is the view of Jonathan Cudworth, director of product management at Expedia Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who said that there has been growth in this city, which could in turn result in higher demand for car hire in Berlin.

He explained: “It is a western European city but with eastern European prices. It’s a city that seems to be very popular along with other eastern European cities like Riga in Latvia and Tallinn in Estonia.”

Mr Cudworth also said that these are “definitely on the up” as consumers continue to look for destinations where they can get more for their money, which could leave them with extra cash left over to spend on car hire.

Earlier this week, Alistair Daly, marketing director for On the Beach, claimed that being flexible is key for Brits when it comes to finding the best value holidays.
