Brits ‘unlikely to give up ski breaks’
A travel expert has suggested that Britons with a love of skiing and snowboarding are unlikely to give up winter sports trips abroad because of the economic downturn.
Brits with a passion for skiing are unlikely to give up their wither sports break, an expert has suggested.
Tim Holmes, show manager of the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show, said that there are several reasons for this unwillingness, which could result in high demand for car hire in France and Switzerland.
He explained that the ski industry is fairing well as there was a “great snow season” last year.
Mr Holmes added: “Everyone involved in skiing and snowboarding do it because it is a passion. So therefore, it is not the first thing they will give up as a consequence of a slight economic misfortune.”
He suggested that people may instead choose to give up a second holiday or a long getaway, rather than a ski break.
Recently, users of car hire in London had the chance to check out all things winter sports at the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, which took place at the London Olympia.
