Further London Underground Strikes On The Horizon

It seems that not a week goes by now without a threat of strike action from one corner or another of Britains workforce. Having narrowly avoided strike action from BAA workers last week, there is now talk of further strikes by employees on the London Underground.
Union leaders will apparently meet today to discuss a possible timetable of strikes in relation to proposed cuts to over 800 jobs at stations throughout London. These cuts are largely to the staffing of ticket offices with widespread use of Oyster cards supposedly reducing the level of human interaction needed. Whilst no firm plans are in place, it has been suggested that action could start from the 6th September.
