London airport set for new departure lounge

London City Airport
Users of car hire in London jetting into the city on holiday will soon find an overhauled passenger area at one of its main travel facilities.
A reconfiguration scheme is set to begin at London City Airport from next year.
Melanie Burnley, director of terminal services at the hub, commented that additional security lanes are being added as a result of a change in behaviour from those using the facility, which may include users of London car hire.
She explained that more passengers are heading straight for security upon arrival, which is why it is altering this part of the building.
Ms Burnley added: “The reconfiguration of the terminal will enable the airport to maintain its successful status as the fastest airport in London.”
The work, which is expected to be finished by the autumn of 2010, will see a larger passenger search area implemented and more room for people using the departure lounges added.
Tourists flying into London City Airport may want to use car hire in London so they can see some of the capital’s fantastic sights, such as Big Ben and Westminster Cathedral.
