London set for visitors in search of Olympic buzz
Many different events and activities are kicking off in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics, with visitors set to flock to the city to take in the buzz before the Games get underway.
Visitors will want to enjoy the buzz around London in the run up to the Olympics.
Sally Chatterjee, interim chief executive officer for Visit London, said that all kinds of events will be on offer before, during and after the Games.
She commented: “From a visitor perspective, not everyone is focused on sporting events but many want to take advantage of the buzz around London as the host city.”
Ms Chatterjee explained that these events will range from a new St Martin’s Courtyard development in Covent Garden to the opening of the Westfield Stratford centre.
She added that to accommodate the extra visitors expected in the capital 13,300 new hotel rooms are set to open and upgrades are being made to the Tube network.
The London Olympic and Paralympic Games will get underway on July 27th 2012.
A recent Visit London report showed that more than £11 billion will be invested in the city in the run up to the event.
